Facilities Accessibility
Our centre is committed to delivering facilities and services that are accessible for all.
Specifics currently in place:
- Two accessible parking bays
- A ramp that allows step free access to the centre either by mobility scooter or car.
Please note if you are arriving alone and need to park at the bottom of the ramp you should display a blue badge and make yourself known to reception in case of emergency access being required.
Note the ramp to the centre is not considered wheelchair friendly due to the gradient.
There is step free access to the sports hall, studio and pool.
The centre is on two levels and has a stair lift suitable for a standing user or wheelchair user. Please ask at reception on arrival.
There are accessible toilet, shower and change facilities on the ground floor dry side and on pool side.
There is a pool hoist to enable safe pool entry and exit which can be operated by the lifeguard.
On Friday 9th June 2023 accessible steps will be installed at the centre and in place for all leisure swims and 3 lane swims.
In the summer of 2024 we hope to refurbish our pool side change spaces to make them more accessible.
We are working hard to make the centre more accessible for all and are always open to suggestions on ways we might better meet this aim.
Website Accessibility
We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to read and understand our content. The website is designed to be used by all new browsers and devices. This offers you a variety of compatible assistive technologies. With this in mind, we are we aim to be as closely aligned to the standard WCAG2.1 level AA as possible.
Features we have put in place are:
- Keyboard functionality
- Consistent layout throughout the website
- The text will re-flow in a single column when you change the size of the browser window.
- Site is fully mobile responsive
Features built into web browsers and devices that our website supports:
- Compatibility with assisted technologies
- Resizing of text size and line height
- High visibility mode
The parts of this website that are currently not fully accessible are:
- PDF documents - some older PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software.
- Online booking system - we are working with external provider to ensure this is improved and will be reviewed shortly.
