Swimming Against The Tide
Find out about how we have used support received to date to transform the centre.
Community First
We are nothing without our community, so we would love you to join (or re-join) as a member to help us to secure the future of the Wadebridge Sports & Leisure Centre. If you cannot commit to a monthly membership, then becoming a regular Pay-To-Play centre user is the next best thing. We would love you to be an active part of our centre community, so please feedback any thoughts and ideas to help us deliver a centre that truly reflects what you want the space to offer.
Help Needed
Taking on and running a Leisure Centre is no mean feat! But we are up for the challenge, have a solid business plan and our Board of volunteers are determined to make a success of the centre.
Making the centre financially viable, during an energy crisis, is going to be a major challenge, so if you have skills, a willingness to sponsor the centre as a club, individual or local business OR if you wish to make a financial donation, we would be very grateful. We have already received some generous cash donations; reduced-price professional services and uniform sponsorship offers, for which we are very grateful.
Some of our main areas of need right now are:
- Signage
- Advertising/PR
- Prizes for competitions and events
- Trades to call on for small changes to the space and facilities
- Large pot plants to brighten the entrance
- Art to brighten the space
Crowdfunding
In the autumn we will be launching our ambitious crowdfunding campaign to enable the radical changes that are needed to the centre's heating, ventilation and water treatment systems.
Please sign up to receive our Email Newsletters, so we can stay in touch and tell you more about it.
We Need Your Help
Running an energy-guzzling, 30-year-old swimming pool and a dated leisure centre is a daily challenge but one that we are more than happy to do for the greater good of the community. We have fully researched and costed up a business plan to make it as energy efficient as possible, but with energy costs rising almost daily, we are having to juggle the budget plan to keep the vision alive. This means that there are now smaller capital items that we cannot afford, but which would make a huge difference to both the staff and users of the centre. If you can help by making a donation, we would appreciate it and will certainly put the money to good use.
